Please can you give details about this?  Set ulimit -c unlimited
(in bash), and then try to get a stacktrace?

This might be a glib bug; could you test with:

  G_SLICE=always-malloc firefox

and it might be an esound bug, could you test with:

  FIREFOX_DSP="none" firefox
