Hello, I also interrested in non systemd init script. I will try to wrote what is needed.
For now i try with http://www.trek.eu.org/devel/sysd2v/ but it’s not working. It’s look like the only apparent line causing issue during the install is in /var/lib/dpkg/info/gitlab.postinst : 524 -> systemctl restart gitlab-sidekiq I just comment it and restart the installation but i suspect it cause non visible trouble with some chown somewhere. Also i have some bug to reach some ressources(assets) and some routes (log/sign out) but it may come from my apache2 configuration. (i crrently use the recipe from https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlab-recipes/blob/master/web-server/apache/gitlab-ssl-apache24.conf) If someone have a good tutorial for making relevant init script i take it thx. J.
