When the environment locale varies, the translated output of "ld -V" gets embedded into slof.bin. The attached patch fixes this by always running ld under the C locale. Unfortunately, there is still an outstanding issue preventing slof.bin from building reproducibly I have been unable to identify, but this significantly reduces the resulting diff. live well, vagrant
