Package: fglrx-driver
Version: 8.23.7-1

Xvideo overlay displays only the upper half of the video image.

I have an ATI Radeon 9200 and a FP display with DVI output as the
primary display and TV-out as the secondary display. The resolution
for DVI FP is 1280x1024 and for TV out is 800x600. Xvideo overlay
works correctly if I drop the resolution to 1024x768 in the primary
display but this has no effect on the secondary display (TV).

If I recall correctly, this problem did not occur when I did not use
DVI output. At the moment I am unable to verify this though.

As a work-around I have been using opengl overlay which seems to work
fine.

With the previous versions of fglrx-driver I had somewhat different
bug: The xvideo output was resized so that it used only half of the
actual screen area vertically but displayed the entire image though.
That is, the image was vertically scaled to half of its actual size.
This bug appeared only with the DVI output when the screen resolution
was set to 1280x1024. DVI with lower resolution and the TV output did
not suffer from this bug.

I have been able to reproduce this bug with both MPlayer and kaffeine.

Software version information:

MPlayer 1.0pre7
kaffeine 0.7.1-1.3+b1.
fglrx-driver 8.23.7-1
fglrx-kernel-src 8.23.7-1
xserver-xorg 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4
linux kernel 2.6.16.1

My display adapter is ATI Radeon 9200, below is the relevant lspci(8)
output:

0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV250 If
[Radeon 9000] (rev 01)
0000:01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV250 [Radeon
9000] (Secondary) (rev 01)
