There is no technical reason in particular. I actually missed the src:python-pauvre bugs listing, and only stuck to the package, where the FTBR bug was not referenced: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?package=python-pauvre So yes, it should have been closed at the same time.
