Package: gnucobol Version: 4.0~early~20200606-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
This version of the compiler unfortunately requires a recompile of all COBOL modules in order to be used. Further, this is still considered pretty unstable and upstream does not recommend it for daily use. Please revert the default version of the compiler to 3.1-rc1, the current stable version. Any of the 4.0+ versions should be in a separate package so as not to disturb stable development environments. -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.7.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages gnucobol depends on: ii gcc 4:9.2.1-3.1 ii libc6 2.30-8 ii libcob5 4.0~early~20200606-3 ii libcob5-dev 4.0~early~20200606-3 ii libgmp-dev 2:6.2.0+dfsg-6 ii libncurses-dev [libncurses5-dev] 6.2-1 ii libncurses5-dev 6.2-1 gnucobol recommends no packages. gnucobol suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
