Package: tetex-base Version: 3.0-17 Severity: normal I just did a full upgrade test for tetex-base, bin, extra from woody to sarge an on to sid+current SVN.
All is well, all the obsolete woody conffiles are removed, but there's still some cruft left: # ls /etc/texmf/ fmt.d language.d pdftex texmf.d varfontdirs.debian.preinst-bak fmtutil.cnf.postinst-bak language.dat.postinst-bak texmf.cnf updmap.d xdvi.cfg So we have a preinst-bak file which should have been removed, and an empty pdftex directory. After purging everything, including tex-common and texinfo, we still have: # ls /etc/texmf/ fmt.d fmtutil.cnf.postinst-bak language.dat.postinst-bak varfontdirs.debian.preinst-bak fmt.d contains: 99postinst.cnf This shouldn't exist if nobody has changed files in that directory; it contains mf mf - mf.ini mfw mfw - mf.ini pdftex pdftex language.dat pdftex.ini omega omega language.dat omega.ini ans lots of commented lines. The postinst-bak files should be also removed upon purge. Just a reminder, Frank -- Frank Küster Single Molecule Spectroscopy, Protein Folding @ Inst. f. Biochemie, Univ.
