It might be worthwhile to disable some or all of those and see whether that resolves the crash; it's entirely possible that the "no blur" case cannot happen in the upstream gnome-shell codebase, in which case it might be felt to be more appropriate to avoid it in the extension that triggers it, rather than in Shell itself.
