Update: I accidentally dropped the last line. I have wondered for many years how copyright and licensing makes sense. In my understanding, that whole comment is a licensing statement: 1st line: What project are we talking about here 2nd line: Who holds copyright on this (and can therefore grant license) 3rd line: License that copyright holder grants 4th line: Who wrote down this whole statement, and when i.e. you previous text said this: "This work, containing copyright protected contributions in 2019 from THE ldh-gui-suite'S COPYRIGHT HOLDER, is licensed same as ldh-gui-suite. So says Américo, in 2019" Makes sense to correct the text to state who actually holds copyright in that work: You did the work, and you didn't [transfer copyright]. Also makes sense to update the text with additional copyright protections (for work done in a later year) when enforcing same license. Does not make sense, however, to "rewrite history" to change when the license was granted (i.e. when the message was originally stated). Another arrangement is when someone pays you to do some work and similarly makes a contract to transfer rights.
