Package: lvm2 Version: 2.03.02-3 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
when trying to use the cleaner cachepolicy in writeback mode, lvm2 fails like this: Cache mode "writeback" is not compatible with cache policy "cleaner". However, the kernel suports this combination, which is very useful to avoid cache migrations but sitll have a hotspot writeback cache. It would be nice if lvm2 also supported this combination (can't see why it dosn't, in fact). -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.5 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'testing-debug'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386, x32 Kernel: Linux 5.6.19-050619-generic (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_DK.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_DK.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_DK.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages lvm2 depends on: ii dmeventd 2:1.02.155-3 ii dmsetup 2:1.02.171-3 ii libaio1 0.3.112-3 ii libblkid1 2.33.1-0.1 ii libc6 2.30-4 ii libdevmapper-event1.02.1 2:1.02.171-3 ii libdevmapper1.02.1 2:1.02.171-3 ii libreadline5 5.2+dfsg-3+b13 ii libselinux1 3.1-2 ii libsystemd0 246.4-1 ii libudev1 241-7~deb10u4 ii lsb-base 10.2019051400 Versions of packages lvm2 recommends: ii thin-provisioning-tools 0.7.6-2.1 lvm2 suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/lvm/lvmlocal.conf changed [not included] -- debconf information excluded
