We are unlikely to make Debian-specific UI changes: we don't really have
the resources to fork the GNOME UI design, even if it was a good idea
to do that. Please could you report this upstream if you consider it to be
a problem?
If a Debian developer who does not share your opinion forwards this
upstream, that would make it less likely that anything will change,
because you can justify/defend your own opinion better than we can.
