Ok. But this I completely did not understand. I read it several times
and did not understand it either, sorry.
There is no command "vam" on my system. I never explicitly used (to my
knowledge) "vim-addon-manager." Therefor I considered the news item
"not applicable".
For me vim-addon-manager simply shipped the necessary file in its
respective latest version.

This sounds more understandable. And yes, rereading the NEWs entry
thats stated in the second paragraph, but I admit after having not
understood the first one, I considered this not applicable.
(But don't take my setup as typical. The file header says it was
initially conceived under a completely different distribution in 1997,
and I only touched it when things did not work).
