This sounds like it should be communicated to the upstream Emacs bug tracker; Debian merely packages Emacs for making it available to Debian users. Normally we would just this for you (basically copy/paste your message into a new bug report in their bug tracker, and set this bug as "forwarded upstream"), but in this particular matter, it would feel more natural if you could open a new bug in their bug tracker yourself, and take it from there. Just to reiterate, Debian doesn't develop Emacs, we just take whatever the GNU Emacs team releases, and adapt it to our system. We do track bugs which are reported here, but the ones which require changes to Emacs itself will be forwarded to the upstream maintainers. They use the same bug tracking system; the web site front page for their bug tracker is at https://debbugs.gnu.org/Emacs.html Please do follow up here as well, if only just so we can mark this as forwarded, with a pointer to the upstream bug. Thanks, /* era */ -- If this were a real .signature, it would suck less. Well, maybe not.
