Package: openjdk-8-jdk-headless Version: 8u272-b10-0+deb9u1 I'm not sure if the problem is JDK or JRE, but it definitely is with one of these packages. Our application written in Java sends emails via external smtp servers. Since we've upgraded the openjdk to version 8u272-b10-0+deb9u1 we got an error: "Received fatal alert: handshake_failure". We noticed that the error appeared mainly when we used Google's smtp servers. Currently we are using the previous package version of openjdk-8 (8u252-b09-1~deb9u1) and sending emails via Google's works properly..
