This is because my fix for #950132 in dak was wrong, and used the
mime-encoded Maintainer field instead of the unencoded maintainer field.

The attached patch addresses this issue.

 This alters commit 53b2e48a05cf to use __MAINTAINER__ which is not
 mime-encoded instead of __MAINTAINER_FROM__. Closes #977726
