I didn't figure out how you made the report. As far I can tell, this patch was
applied upstream in different shape as of the following commits:
057839ca982f8 ("src/xz/xz.1: Correct misused two-fonts macros")
90457dbe3e571 ("xz man page: Change \- (minus) to \(en (en-dash) for a
numeric range.")
5d224da3da874 ("xz: Avoid the abbreviation "e.g." on the man page.")
cb1f34988c8a4 ("xz: Protect the ellipsis (...) on the man page with \&.")
620b32f5339f8 ("xz: Use non-breaking spaces when intentionally using more
than one space.")
4575d9d365c75 ("xz: Avoid unneeded \f escapes on the man page.")
Therefore I would consider this done with those patches applied / in a
post v5.3.1alpha release.
