Package: synaptic
Severity: normal

Hello,

I have problem running synaptic within my national environment. Howeve if I
unset all LC_* variables then everything works fine. By setting the
LC_* varables one by one I have found that the problem is with LC_COLLATE set
to cs_CZ. With this setting synaptic crashes with SIGSEGV. Earlier I
post comment to bug #287470 which looked familiar.

I'm not sure if this is synaptic or locale problem. cs_CZ is system wide
setting however and no other package has problems - 'ls' is sorting
according chzech locale:

scout:~# mkdir /tmp/test; cd /tmp/test; touch c ch d; ls
c d ch
scout:/tmp/test#

(eg. 'ch' is considered single letter sorted between h and i)
