The readline5 package was kept around for a long time because of a
license change from GPL-2+ to GPL-3+. This version is not maintained
upstream anymore. The package was orphaned via #737301 and is untouched
for 5.5 years.
The last reverse dependency was xfsprogs which got rid of its readline5
dependency in sid today.
The libedit library is largely API compatible and fully license
compatible with readline5. libedit's binary package libeditreadline-dev
can be used as a drop-in replacement without even patching include paths
or library names.
So please remove the readline5 package so that it is not released with
bullseye.
