Hello Axel, I'm seeing this too. Since I regularly use the console (and hence gpm) and I'm rebooting my desktop machine daily, this is quite annyoing.
Until a few days ago, I was seeing in the logs:
Jan 16 20:18:23 samd systemd[1]: Starting LSB: gpm sysv init script...
then I see
Jan 19 17:21:13 samd systemd[1]: gpm.service: Succeeded.
but on the 20th it seems to have stopped, i.e. no longer gpm starts.
And on this day gpm was updated in Testing (which I run).
