No.

I wrote: "in case all interfaces are managed by NetworkManager". This means
that there is no connection in /etc/network/interfaces.

Please read my bug report carefully and understand that the patch mentioned
there causes the bug.

Without any connection, nm-no-connection should be displayed - not
nm-device-wired.
