I cannot access http://localhost/dwww/ because of the following error in my cron.daily report: ===== /etc/cron.daily/dwww: Cannot rename /var/lib/dwww/dwww-build.OqTaAH/data/ to /var/www/dwww: Invalid cross-device link at /usr/sbin/dwww-build line 110. run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/dwww exited with return code 18 ===== It seems that the problem is given by the fact that /var/www is a symlink to /home/luca/var/www and they are on different devices (/dev/hda2 for /var and /dev/hda6 for /home). Policy 11.5 clearly permits a situation like mine: 4. Web Document Root Web Applications should try to avoid storing files in the Web Document Root. Instead they should use the /usr/share/doc/package directory for documents and register the Web Application via the doc-base package. If access to the web document root is unavoidable then use /var/www as the Document Root. This might be just a symbolic link to the location where the system administrator has put the real document root. Should this bug be severity serious?
