Getting myself on the cc list for this bug so I know when it's fixed.. I'm having the same terminal problem, I have to type "reset" whenever I open a new tab. And new tabs don't seem to run my .bashrc so I can't even automate it. I was going to look into a way to change this, but when I opened the Gnome Terminal manual, it launched in my firefox browser and showed me an unstyled XML document.
