You never said which version of gnome-shell or mutter is/was affected. Which version is/was affected? It might be obvious to you, but it isn't obvious to me whether you're talking about 3.38.x, 3.30.x or something else. If you are aware of an upstream commit or an upstream release that is thought to fix it, which upstream commit or release is that? You linked to https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/2467 which mentions merge requests https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/merge_requests/1116 and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/1676. If I'm reading correctly, mutter!1676 was included in our mutter package since 3.38.3-2, while gnome-shell!1116 has been included in our gnome-shell packages since sometime around 3.36.1, so this is hopefully already fixed in bullseye. If you are using bullseye/sid, please could you confirm whether this is fixed, either in 3.38.3-3 (in bullseye as of today) or in 3.38.3-5 (due to migrate soon)? Now that the much-delayed 3.38.4 upstream releases have happened, I'll try to look at whether we can include them in buster, but our 3.38.3-x packages are already quite close to upstream's 3.38.4. smcv
