Hello, I have done extensive testing and stress tested my setup and was not able to reproduce the bug again.
I suggest you close this bug, sorry to have wasted your time. I suspect something wrong happened on my NAS and the client NFS didn't like it and crashed on transitions. And in the steps i took one must have corrected the issue as I can no longer reproduce the problem. I do get crashes sometimes opening menus but that is a whole different issue that I believe is already tracked from looking at the project on GitHub.
