Hello,

Those instructions don't quite work. It did, however, lead me how to figure
it out (thank you).

If you want to do this, you have to:

1. Open ANOTHER tab (try it if you don't believe me, you have to do this)

2. On that tab, a section called "top sites" will appear. Tab to the site
you would like to get ride of, and then hit tab one more time. A HIDDEN
... menu appears.

Alternatively, hover over the top right of the icon of the site to see the
... menu.

3. Click it, and then select dismiss.

This doesn't address my other points about non-freedom respecting sites
being advertised by Debian, nor about the ability to remove this for
deployed systems.

Should I open another bug, or are you indicating that is some kind
"won't fix"? I can provide the patches to fix this.

- Antonio
