I'm sending this as a wishlist as I'm not sure my report is accurate... Correct me if so. Automatic updates of Firefox are disabled because updates are handled by Debian maintainers through apt-get. That is fine and sounds like a better idea as debian firefox packages are installed system-wide. But does it disable automatic updates of extension as well ? I didn't get any extension update warning in months using Debian Firefox build, but yesterday I tried a nighly build from mozilla.org and I immediately got prompted for an extension update. Extensions being most of the time installed on a per-user basis, automatic update of extensions should be restored.
