Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? I tried to boot debian inside the firecracker microvm and saw that initramfs could not find the root disk. It turns out that virtio_mmio.ko is not compiled with the VIRTIO_MMIO_CMDLINE_DEVICES option. Thus requiring a kernel rebuild to be able to boot debian. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Rebuilding the kernel with the extra option worked * What was the outcome of this action? My rebuild kernel worked. * What outcome did you expect instead? I hoped to be able to boot debian after including the right kernel modules inside initramfs *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.0 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-8-amd64 (SMP w/3 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=nl_NL.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nl_NL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages linux-image-amd64 depends on: ii linux-image-5.10.0-8-amd64 5.10.46-5 linux-image-amd64 recommends no packages. linux-image-amd64 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
