it seems you haven't gotten around to doing another upload of dash since your last mail. Even if the code is going away at some point, it would be great to have DPKG_ROOT support until you find some time to do that change. Since the DPKG_ROOT variable is empty in a normal installation, the patch I proposed in my initial mail should not affect the operation of dash. If you like and you don't have time these days, I can add these changes to the packaging git and make a new upload. Thanks! cheers, josch
