Hi Baurzhan, Thanks for the test data, I followed your steps and the characters were unchanged when viewed in the C / POSIX locale, as they are when viewed in en_GB (my normal locale) using GnuCash 1.9.5 SVN (as in Debian experimental). I've tagged this bug with fixed-in-experimental so that it can be closed when GnuCash 2.0 is finally released.
This is another of those bugs that has been fixed by making the transition from gnome1 libraries to gnome2. Thanks for the bug report!
