With version 6.4.22-1 and 6.4.23-1 I get the following error: configuration requires TLS, but STARTTLS is not permitted because of authenticated state (PREAUTH). Aborting connection. Server permitting, try --ssl instead (see manual). But I'm using ssh authentication (auth ssh), and using the plugin command I'm remotely start the imap server (doveadm exec imap). The imap server does not require authentication. As far as fetchmail is concerned, it should not talk SSL/SSH, or do any authentication, it's all done externally. This worked until version 6.4.21-1.
