I looked at the VCS and all your changes look (more than) fine, thanks (I only skimmed at upstream changes, but trust you did due diligence). You may also wish to build-depend on dh-sequence-phpcomposer (eventually instead of pkg-php-composer) instead of using --with phpcomposer in d/rules.
Anyway, I just granted you DM rights on this package so you can upload it yourself (do tell if you want me to upload it directly in the mean time).
