Package: procps
Version: 2:3.3.17-6
Severity: wishlist
Hi!
I was about to ask for trivial de-awkization of procps' preinst, but it
appears that this script was last modified more than 14 years ago, for a
migration of an old conffile on upgrades. Upgrades from etch straight
to bookworm are obviously not supported.
Thus: could you please drop the preinst?
If for some reason you feel attached to it, then please instead replace
curmd5=`md5sum "$f" |awk '{print $1}'`
with
curmd5=`md5sum "$f" |cut -d' ' -f1`
but obviously dropping is superior.
Meow!
