A separate package probably wouldn't be that useful (since most of the xterm features are poorly supported by other terminal emulators).
There are currently 60 scripts.
In my test-packages, I add those in /usr/share/doc/*/examples:
dh_installexamples tektests vttests
which consumes about as much diskspace as the changelog (xterm.log.html).
