Package: maelstrom Version: 1.4.3-L3.0.6+main-9 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, thanks for maintaining Maelstrom, it is a nice classic game.
On this slightly old system, maelstrom is unplayable because the keys to move the ship stutter and do not work properly. So when you want to turn left or right, and hold the key down, the ship does not continue to turn, it may turn a bit if someone hits the key several times, but this is not enough for playing properly. Expected behaviour is: Ship continues to rotate or trust forward, when key is pressed and held down. == Technical details, things tried On a Raspberry 4 with Raspberry OS the same Debian version works fine, so it does not seem to be a problem of system power in general. It does not depend on the window manager, I had the same problem with Plasma and i3. It does not depend on full screen, I've tried both modes. glxgears shows the system to be fast (the maximum of 60fps as synced). I've switched off and on and defaulted the key repetion via the Plasma system settings, this did not have an effect on Maelstrom. xev shows that the keys repeat as expected, so it is not the original key events themselves. It does not depend on which key is used, as I did configured different ones and got the same problem.
