Dear Maintainer, I upgraded a host which functions as a samba active directory controller from buster to bullseye. aideinit fails with a segfault: root@atc-hq-dc2:~# aideinit Running aide --init... Segmentation fault AIDE --init return code 139 Syslog shows: Jun 20 11:33:28 atc-hq-dc2 kernel: [239549.685035] aide[153613]: segfault at 4 ip 00007fe6593ab350 sp 00007ffcf4aa4800 error 4 in libnss_systemd.so.2[7fe6593aa000+25000] Jun 20 11:33:28 atc-hq-dc2 kernel: [239549.685041] Code: 01 89 90 04 00 00 00 eb e8 b8 b5 ff ff ff 5b c3 66 2e 0f 1f 84 00 00 00 00 00 48 83 ec 08 48 8d 3d 5d 2c 03 00 e8 70 f 0 ff ff <8b> 80 04 00 00 00 85 c0 0f 95 c0 48 83 c4 08 c3 48 81 ec d8 00 00 I found someone with similar problems googling, but the suggestion here to purge and re-install aide makes no difference -- same failure. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aide/+bug/1920649 aide-dynamic is not installed. Interesting that I've upgraded at least 10 of our machines in the last month or so and this is the first I have seen this problem. Let me know what further info I can provide to help. -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.3 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-15-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled aide depends on no packages.
