Package: libuhd4.2.0-dpdk-tests Version: 4.2.0.0+ds1-2 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a Breaks+Replaces relation. See policy 7.6 at https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#overwriting-files-and-replacing-packages-replaces >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): Preparing to unpack .../libuhd4.2.0-dpdk_4.2.0.0+ds1-2_amd64.deb ... Unpacking libuhd4.2.0-dpdk:amd64 (4.2.0.0+ds1-2) ... Selecting previously unselected package libuhd4.2.0-dpdk-tests. Preparing to unpack .../libuhd4.2.0-dpdk-tests_4.2.0.0+ds1-2_amd64.deb ... Unpacking libuhd4.2.0-dpdk-tests (4.2.0.0+ds1-2) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/libuhd4.2.0-dpdk-tests_4.2.0.0+ds1-2_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/uhd/tests/dpdk_port_test', which is also in package libuhd4.1.0-dpdk-tests 4.1.0.5-3+b2 dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libuhd4.2.0-dpdk-tests_4.2.0.0+ds1-2_amd64.deb The package name suggests that these two should be co-installable, so you should probably move the tests to a versioned subdirectory of /usr/lib/uhd/ Otherwise please consider removing the version from the package name. cheers, Andreas
