I'm seeing *tons* of these in a pretty standard debian 11 lxc container
on a debian 10 host.

insie the container:

ii libgpm2:amd64 1.20.7-8 amd64
General Purpose Mouse - shared library
ii vim 2:8.2.2434-3+deb11u1 amd64 Vi
IMproved - enhanced vi editor
ii vim-common 2:8.2.2434-3+deb11u1 all Vi
IMproved - Common files
ii vim-runtime 2:8.2.2434-3+deb11u1 all Vi
IMproved - Runtime files

there is no non-standard vim config whatsoever. It's a pretty stock bullseye
that I just
created today using 'lxc -t download'

Aug 02 16:51:51 vpn vi[9459]: unable to open gpm console, check your /dev
filesystem!
Aug 02 16:51:51 vpn vi[9459]: *** err
Aug 02 16:51:51 vpn vi[9459]: Oh, oh, it's an error! possibly I die!

I see lots of repeats every few seconds, possibly every time vim was used?

Clearly running an editor like vim inside a container is nothing unexpected in
2022,
and shouldn't result in tons of error messages spamming syslog / journal?
