Subject: srcinst: does not compile if the package is not purged

Hello,

I found out that if I uninstall a package and then try to install it
with srcinst, then srcinst will detect the package as installed.

If I purge the package, then this problem no longer is present.

Architecture: powerpc (ppc)
Shell:  /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash
Kernel: Linux 2.6.14-merci
