This is really just a missing include dir, as the problematic header is in
/usr/lib/jvm/default-java/include/linux/ . I will be having a look shortly,
we should be able to handle this and keep the Java packages if this is the
only Java-related issue.

Please see the hint of Mathieu.  To be clear about this: We'll keep the
general Java support libgdcm-java but it seems we need to remove
libvtkgdcm-java which is way less frequently used.  (For sure if you see
any chance to fix this feel free to re-add what was removed in Git - but
I guess this is some issue that needs to be fixed upstream.)

Yes, it is likely I overlooked the whole frame of the issue. Will look again later... this Java point seems not to be the most urgent thing.
