the problem is it's not just the interface, but a large number of
calls to "include" and similar in the code i suspect. the most
straightforward way to fix this would thus be a patch that would likely
have to be updated/re-merged with every new release, which is someting
i'd like to avoid. there are probably better/simpler/more-general ways
of doing it to (modifying include_path, etc) but i haven't had the time
to look into it too deeply.
so my motivation to do so has not been very high. however, i'd say this
is a valid issue, so i'll leave the bug open at a slighly lower severity.
