Thank you so much Stefano! I've been meaning to update to the latest upstream release for a while (alongside libmaxminddb itself), but life has gotten busy -- I'm slowly getting there though for the past couple of weeks :) This is currently in the top-3 of my list, and I expect to work on this in the next week at the latest. I don't mind having an NMU, though, whether targeted or for the new upstream version itself. If you do make an upload, I have one small request, which would be to push the changes to the git repo if you can (it's under the "debian" salsa project). If you're interested in doing further work in this package, you are also more than welcome to add yourself to Uploaders and make this a maintainer upload.
