so then the numerous browsers that are in the debian repos (not even counting
my case of using third-party repos) could be used,
of which most of them won't be usable. Or is there JS etc support for
(e)links. w3m. ...?
There unfortunately is no "X browser with JavaScript support" virtual
package.
