I was just trying to explain, that in my opinion the source of the problem is resetting the timestamps while applying distro patches, so maybe it's worth looking at fixing the source instead of downstream consequences, and I'm unwilling to do something upstream to accomodate a distro issue, but at distro level, you decide what is the best way to go on.
