Indeed applying patch 9.0.1117 fixes the problem, provided that ncurses-base is /also/ upgraded to 6.4-1. With the incorrect definitions from ncurses-base 6.3+20221224-1, pasting remains broken even in vim 9.0.1117. So I guess we need to clone a copy of this bug to vim and upgrade both ncurses and vim.
