Thanks, the backtrace got a little bit better. Anyway, I wonder if "xscreensaver-gl-visual did not report a GL visual!" is the real issue. Is there something special about your system that would be worthwhile to mention? Is it a normal laptop with a normal installation of Debian unstable? Can you please attach the output from "glxinfo"?
