This was brought to the Ubuntu security team's attention via some possible security issues discovered by a fuzzing enthusiast: https://github.com/PhilipHazel/aspic/issues/1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aspic/+bug/2003344 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aspic/+bug/2003354 (I'd be happy to subscribe anyone who wants to take a look at these.)
