I think XScreensaver must wait and ensure the windows is mapped and viewable before sending the X_SetInputFocus request to it. Whether the fix should be in XScreensaver or a graphics library, I don't know, but I am sure Jamie can enlighten us. The problem didn't occur with previous XScreensaver versions.
