I just stumbled over this bug. Package sbuild-qemu has the 'sbuild-qemu-update' utility which dist-upgrades images created by autopkgtest-build-qemu. There's also an sbuild-qemu-boot utility in case you want to interactively do something with the image. Best, Christian
