I've now discovered that this very bug was reported upstream [0] and it
has been already fixed in the debian/102/master branch [1].
 
To confirm, I've just built mozjs78 successfully on armhf with the patch
applied (Remove-workaround-for-old-libstdc-problem-which-now-cause.patch)

The right way to fix the problem in mozjs78 seems to be just
cherry-picking 3230b3af to debian/78/master as well.
