Are you planning to upload this to bookworm? We are starting to test
gitlab on bookworm to be able to provide gitlab via bookworm-fasttrack
when bookworm releases. I hit this issue today when testing gitlab on
bookworm.

I uploaded it yesterday and there is an unblock request already in
place.

Thanks! We added a work around to install openssl 3.0.2 from rubygems.org for now (as we are in contrib, we occasionally have to resort to this when we can fix some packages fast enough, but we still prefer to use as much packaged dependencies as possible). Though this will need a depends on ruby-dev and libssl-dev, which we can remove once it gits bookworm. Though I noticed a regression in ppc64el https://ci.debian.net/data/autopkgtest/testing/ppc64el/n/nanoc/32447890/log.gz

I tried rebuilding ruby in bookworm, but one test failed. Not sure if this
is a random failure or is it actually using the internet?

See #1033395

I didn't really try on bookworm, but the difference between it and sid
at this point is probably small and it just worked for me and on the
buildds. it might be random.

Though on a second try also it failed for me. But if it is building fine on buildd, may be we can ignore it for now.
